Helicopter Accidents

Helicopter accidents represent a significant risk contribution to the total risk picture for personnel working offshore. Accident statistics from the helicopter activity in the North Sea is utilized in risk assessments

Risk related to helicopter accidents is normally split in two sections, i.e. risk for passengers during the flight and risk exposure of personnel on the installation.

Statistics applied in the risk assessments is based on Sintef's Helicopter Safety Study 2, and on "Risk level on the Norwegian Continental Shelf" report prepared by Preventor.
