Reliability Studies / Fault Tree Analysis

Reliable systems may reduce downtime as well as ensure availability of safety- and operation critical equipment.

Scandpower execute complex and simple reliability analyses to provide technical evaluations of mechanical, electromechanical and instrumented systems design in support of i.e. new technology, design alterations or production profiles.

We provide reliability engineering support to help our customers to:

  • Demonstrate that reliability targets are met
  • Assist in re-design of system to achieve reliability targets
  • Specify applicable reliability requirements/targets
  • Verification according to standards

The fault tree analysis is the most used analysis technique for reliability and risk analysis. A fault tree is a logical diagram that illustrates the coherence between an undesired event in a system and the causes of this event. A fault tree uses deductive reasoning to identify the fault events, modes and causes that will result in the undesired event.

The fault tree is a powerful root cause investigative tool. When confronted with a problem or symptom, the fault tree analysis quickly identifies all potential causes of the problem, and estimates the likelihood that any given cause is responsible for the problem. A fault tree analysis may be qualitative, quantitative or both, and is suitable for a wide range of areas of application.

Other complete detailed reliability analyses such as FMECA, Markov analyses, Monte Carlo analyses, Safety assessments are also available
