The Watercut JIP project was initiated by Scandpower in 2009 as a suggestion to Statoil on how to document reduced fire loads due to high watercut in certain well streams, including a proposed validation of the advanced fire simulator Kameleon FireEx KFX® for such scenarios. SINTEF NBL headed the project and performed the fire tests, ComputIT was responsible for the modelling and simulation of the fire tests, and Statoil financed the project.

The establishment of an LNG terminal in Nynäshamn, the first of its kind in Sweden, is a prime example of the importance of fostering close relationships with the client and with the government. The terminal is scheduled to go into operation in 2011 and will deliver LNG to the Nynäs Refinery, the Fortum natural gas distribution net in Stockholm and other industrial customers.
